After a fatal car wreck which stemmed from the DEA raiding his apartment, Cali reconsidered his life path. Shortly after, he began making beats, which started out by him tapping on the drawer or listening to rain drops. By the age of 19 he was an infamous youngster in various neighborhoods in the Tri-state area. Cali Cash had a Strong will to make a name for himself as a Rapper, his need to participate in Crime and illegal activities was fading.
Although his focus was now on Hip Hop 100% of the time, his past had loose ends.

His work ethic and his affiliation with a local producer, helped him get the attention of Rocafella. Through an independent label called BLAKGLOBE RECORDS, (ran by multi-platinum producer 4th Desciple of Wu-Tang) a compilation album which featured his lyrics and production was released. Soon after selling 25k copies of the album SRC showed interest in his talents. Due to the nature of his contract with BLAKGLOBE and an unexpected ordeal from loose ends in his past, Cali was forced back to the street life that plagued his adolescence and teenage years. Shortly after, a three year prison bid followed... he served 2 years and 9 months.
Cali came home determined to turn his life around yet again, this time for good. The 4u2nv General enhanced his ability to create songs while incarcerated; to the likes of Jay-z/ Big L/ and 2-Pac. Cali Cash spent his days memorizing unwritten lyrics and challenging his creative process, while studying marketing and the business of music.
From the golden era of hip hop to the new swag era of rap Cali Cashflo is proving with every record, that although he is new on the scene he is no stranger to the industry. He is creating classic material, with songs that capture what it’s like to be a hood nigga that made it and undeniable lyrical ability. It was the summer of 1998 when Cashflo first was intrigued by the culture. At the juvenile age of 10, he began to fall in love with the music, the New York rap scene was the biggest influence in the streets. Hustler music and gangster rap were captivating his young mind and introducing an adolescent Cali Cashflo to a life he didn’t know or understood. The music that would eventually change his life, had just planted the seed for a future of crime and illegal activity.
Born in the poverty stricken slums of the Dominican Republic, he brought joy to a poor family. Your boy boy was the first of 3 children. His Father was a self-employed electrician and his mother was a stay at home mom, she had had lots of love and wisdom to share. Like most in the country, ends meet was hard to achieve.
Cali had a Grandfather from America, who was able to bring the family to New Jersey in 1992, all but his father (due to immigration laws) who he admired more than any one. Now with the absence of a Dad in his life, he now had the responsibility of watching over his younger brothers while his Mom worked.
Cali’s mother struggled working 2 and 3 jobs at a time. With little parental supervision, the young scrapper began exploring Jersey City’s crime infested streets which he called home. Introduced to drug dealing and gang violence early in his life, juvenile correction facilities short followed.
“I remember I used to get some money just to drop off backpacks after school, or green tennis balls with a cut in the center...they use to hide it there'' says -Cali Cashflo- by ''they'' he is subtly referring to neighborhood drug dealers.
